Where are you from?

Corte Madera in Marin County, Ca. Just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.

How often did you go skating in San Francisco as a kid?

We tried to get there as much as we could. I think at first we were kinda like the dorks from Marin, but i had this slider bar and a ramp at my house so alot of dudes would come and skate. Guys like Carroll, Danny Sargent, Lavar, Henry Sanchez, Jake Vogel, Justin Girard. Just to name a few. So after a bit I was cool with all the City crew and it was so sick because at the time those were the best skaters in the world.

How long have you been playing the banjo?

I've been playing guitar since I was like 11 years old, so I've always been into music. As far as the banjo goes, my aunt gave my little brother Jamie what she thought was a guitar but was actually a banjo when we were young. We always had it around. When I was like 22 I started messing with it when I was visiting my mom's. My brother told me to take it with me, since I seemed to be enjoying it more than anyone else.

You're an avid bowler as well, right? Have you ever bowled a 300 game?

I love all leisure sports. Shout outs to the C.L.A.C. Unfortunately my high is 239.

What was it like living at the Hunter's Point vert ramp warehouse?

Damn, it was amazing for a while. We would throw these huge, kick-ass parties with skating, punk bands, bars, kegs , dj's, girls, substance abuse, motorcycles. Just fucking mayhem in general. However, a couple years in a dark warehouse starts to get depressing, so I had to get out of there.

Do you want to talk about your mega ramp experience at all?

My knee is doing really good after it shattered on the mega.

What's it like skating with Pj Ladd?

Mind blowing. I love skating with Pj.

How long have you been riding for Venture?

Damn, a really long fucking time. Since 1994. What's that, like 15 years?

5.2 lows. The wide boys.

How many Venture ads have you had?

Either three or four.

Where was this ad shot and who shot it?

It's south of San Diego in this ditch that is apparently packed full of asbestos. Someone built this fucked up quarterpipe in it. Its pretty hard to skate, but real fun. Rhino brought me and he shot the sequence.

What's your kryptonite trick?

Regular hardflips. Can't do 'em.

Should skateboarding be in the Olympics?

Fuck the Olympics.

What sport would make watching the Olympics more enjoyable?

Speed Standing.

What is your first memory of skateboarding?

Saving up a few weeks to buy a plastic red veriflex for $11.99 at Thrifty drug store, maybe around 1982 or 1983.

Who were your early influences and why?

Ray Simmonds and Jeff Pettit because they were from Marin. Matt Hensley because I loved the way he did everything. Also Gonz and Jason Lee.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Playing keyboard in Metallica.

Who's your favorite Venture teammate?

PJ and Gallant because dems my boys yo.

How has your life changed after you had a kid?

Its just busier and I think before I act a little more.
